Schedule of cruise calls to Waterford for 2024 announced

Port of Waterford is delighted to announce the schedule of cruise calls to Waterford for 2024

In all, we expect to have 28 cruise ships visit Port of Waterford, gateway to Ireland’s South East, calling at Belview and Dunmore East, representing a 33% increase on last year.

The number of passengers calling will number over 27,000 which will add considerable boost to the local and regional economy (estimated at over €2 million). Waterford’s harbour is widely and rightly considered very picturesque and a great place to visit great locations in a compact welcoming region.

Visitors to Waterford areas will be spoilt for choice – here are just some of the highlights:

  • Waterford Crystal
  • Museum of Treasures
  • Mount Congreve Gardens
  • Dunmore East village
  • Waterford’s Copper Coast
  • Kilkenny Castle
  • Dunbrody Famine ship
  • Hook Lighthouse
  • Altamont Gardens
  • Rock of Cashel

The Port of Waterford team work with stakeholders to attract and manage all these cruise calls, and we look forward welcoming visitors to the region during the year.

Belview Port is located 8 kilometres from Waterford City and is ideally located for excursions to the city and nearby Kilkenny and Wexford.   Dunmore East is located at the mouth of Waterford Harbour and visiting cruise vessels operate tenders to Dunmore East Harbour, managed by Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, with easy access to Waterford, city and coast, Kilkenny and beyond.
