Plans for Port of Waterford expansion submitted to local planning authority
A planning proposal has been submitted to Kilkenny County Council with regard to planned expansion of facilities at the Port of Waterford.
The submission makes provision for a new transportation yard to facilitate the storage of shipping containers. The facility also plans to add a new container repair area, parking for articulated truck trailers.
If granted permission, there will also be a designated safe zone developed where hauliers will be able to cover bulk trailers away from the main road/hard shoulder, along with welfare facilities, office accommodation and new site lighting.
