Safety is paramount. Our Certified Health & Safety Management System reinforces our compliance with current legislation and commitment to continuous improvement across all safety requirements.

Employee Safety

We have processes and procedures in place to actively prevent ill health, injury to employees, subcontractors and members of the public. See our Health & Safety Policy which is core to our safety culture.

Safety Induction

All people engaged in work activity in operational areas (Quays) must complete our on-line on-line Health & Safety Induction training.

On-line Health & Safety Induction training programme

Visitors (unless accompanied by a member of port staff) must undergo a Safety Induction. Register as a new user and enter course code:

(If previously registered elsewhere for SitePass system, log in and enter above code to add this Course to your account profile.)

Once completed, you’ll receive a confirmation email and Port safety management staff will be notified. Once completed, the Safety Induction is valid for three years.

ISO 45001:2018 Health & Safety Certification

Port of Waterford has achieved certification against the requirements of the international standard ISO 45001:2018 which is an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, that gives guidance to enable us to provide a safe and healthy workplace by preventing work-related injury and ill health, as well as by proactively improving our OH&S performance. Consistent with Port of Waterford’s OH&S policy, we are committed to continual improvement of our OH&S performance.
