Pilotage
Due to the specifics of the Waterford harbour estuary, including tide, depths and navigation channel, pilotage is compulsory.
- No beam or air-draft restrictions.
- Vessels up to 32,000 dwt subject to tide.
- Maximum draft 9.5m subject to tide.
- Vessels up to 200m subject to tide.
The Belview Terminal can accommodate ships to approximately 200m LOA with a maximum draught of between 8.5m to 9.3m, depending on tides.
Vessels greater than 170m LOA are accepted by specific arrangement with the Harbour Master.

The lower bar at Duncannon and river bars at Cheekpoint are maintained at a depth of -6.5m to C.D.

VHF Radio: A watch is maintained by the VHF Station at Port Control Centre, situated at Dunmore East, contactable 24 hours.
Pilot boarding location is Dunmore East, unless weather dictates otherwise.
