Port of Waterford through its safety management system commits to: continual Improvement, compliance with current legislation and other safety requirements. We have processes and procedures in place to actively prevent ill health, injury to employees, subcontractors and members of the public. See our Health & Safety Policy which is core to our safety culture.
All persons engaged in work activity in operational areas (Quays) are required to have undertaken and passed our on-line Health & Safety Induction training.
Intending visitors (unless accompanied by a member of port staff) must undergo the Safety Induction (Register as a new user and enter course code POW-IND for our induction training module)
The induction training material is followed by a short quiz to satisfy us that the safety material is understood. Upon completion, you will receive confirmation email and Port safety management staff will be notified. Successful completion of Induction training is valid for 3 years.

ISO 45001:2018 Health & Safety Certification
Port of Waterford has successfully achieved certification for ISO 45001:2015 Health & Safety, from Ireland's National Standards body, NSAI.
ISO 45001 is an International Standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system, with guidance for its use, to enable an organisation to proactively improve its OH&S performance in preventing injury and ill-health. Port of Waterford has actively managed according to OHSAS 18001 which now has new ISO 45001 standard,
