Cargo Handling
Cargo Handling
Bulk handling is operated at Belview Port through licensed stevedores, Southeast Port Services +353 51 851 811 and Suir Shipping +353 51 833 338. Both stevedores employ modern efficient equipment and have significant storage available close to the Port.
Container handling is operated by the Port company's subsidiary, Waterford Container Terminal DAC Tel: +353 51 89980, under the care of our highly experienced workforce. Two long reach gantry cranes store containers directly under the cranes, hence removing the need for secondary handling and minimising damage and cost. The terminal typically handles ships on arrival and effects quick turnarounds.
Other project cargoes (as below) are handled with ease by the various licenced stevedores. There is substantial laydown and marshalling area available and both stevedores have significant storage capacity nearby.

Project/Oversized cargo
Port of Waterford and its partners have worked on many over-sized cargo projects to ensure they are successfully delivered on schedule. The experienced stevedoring staff work in a flexible and customer focussed manner.
Secure open storage is available at specific locations on-site at Belview (7acres) and Waterford City quays (7acres) facilities for short and long-term. Additional storage is coming on-stream in near future.
The infrastructure at Belview is capable of handling extra-long (c.50 metres) or extra-wide loads (10 metres).
There is easy access to national road network, without transiting through urban areas with associated traffic restrictions. We have a proven track record in handling various types of project cargo.
